My September Starlooks Looksbook Review

I'm sure you've probably heard about Starlooks and the amazing subscription boxes they offer but have you checked out the LooksBook® yet?

Each LooksBook® contains fashion-forecasted, PRO Quality, HD, photo-compatible Starlooks color cosmetics, tucked into a convenient and educational “Book”, and is carefully curated to provide a complete “Look”.
These LooksBooks, unlike beauty subscription boxes, are NOT comprised of random selections of product.  They are carefully planned each month based on professional beauty and fashion forecasts, and products are specifically chosen to guarantee that each book’s look is not only fashion forward, but also current in the fashion and beauty industry, if not totally ahead of the game!

As a member, you get a new LooksBook® delivered to your door EVERY MONTH for just $12/month (FREE Domestic Shipping)!
This includes:

• Three, new, Perfect Size® (usually about ¾ of full-size) Starlooks PRO cosmetic formulas & colors.

• A travel-size “book” in which all three items fit snugly! Keeps your products clean, safe, and fits right in your purse - so you can carry your LOOKSBOOK® with you everywhere you go!

• A tips and tutorials booklet on how to apply your monthly products like a PRO, and how to get the most out of each item.

• In the future: endless possibilities - accessories, tools, and more! Don’t break your bank with monthly makeup binges… LOOKSBOOK® IS ALL YOU NEED! Subscribe Now!

I just received my second LooksBook and I still love the whole concept of it!  The book is so cute and nicely decorated.  The theme for September was "Revival" and included three products to allow me to revive myself because life is wild and unpredictable.

The book opens up and explains how to use each product with color photos.  All of the products go very well together.  I love how everything fits perfectly in the book and it can be carried in my purse easily.

It included an Agave Eye Shadow Duo.  This applied easily and the colors went well together.  I applied it as instructed but it is much lighter than the photos show.

There is also a Flora Spectrum Mascara.  It is actually bluish colored but does not make lashes look really blue.  I am a huge fan of Starlooks mascara, but this mascara seemed to be thinner than the others.  It did not create much volume either.

Lastly, there was a tube of Rawr! Matte Lipstick included.  It looks really bright in the tube but after applying it, it is not so dramatic.  It is not a bad color but really washes me out.  It's a bit too pink for me this time of year since I don't have much tan left.

Here I am only wearing the three products from this Looksbook.  Even though I don't think this months Looksbook is the best choice for me, I still love the surprise of it.  Who knows what next month will bring.  I'm sure it will be wonderful!
I highly recommend Starlooks to any beauty addict.  It makes a great gift idea as well.

August Starbox Review

The new Starbox subscription options are going strong!  Have you ordered yours yet?  If not, you don't know what you're missing!  Now you can get 3 Starlooks Cosmetics of your choice, & 3 Fashion/Lifestyle Gift Cards of your choice a month for only $12 - shipping included!!  You still have the option of being surprised but why not just pick out what you want from the options they give?
You can also choose the $15 option which includes 3, PRO Quality, fashion forecasted Starlooks Cosmetics delivered to your door monthly.

I recently received my custom August Starbox.  I was able to choose three products from a given set of choices and three gift cards from a variety of websites.  It was a really tough decision but I chose the following items....

1. Gold Coast Eye Shadow
2. Gimme More Volumizing Mascara
3. Just Say Yes Lip Gloss
4. $20 Gift Card for Starlooks products
5. $20 Gift Card for Scheana Marie by Starlooks products
6. Another $20 Gift Card for Scheana Marie by Starlooks products (they must have been out of whatever I ordered so they substituted this)

All of the products are "perfect size" which means they are not full sized but bigger than samples.  They are usually about 3/4 the size of a full sized product.  They are perfect for your purse or pocket.  I love all of these products.  I have used the mascara before so I knew it was awesome.  It goes on without clumping and lasts all day.  The lip gloss lasts a long time too and keeps my lips soft.  The eye shadow is a great color and matches my skin tone nicely.  I definitely made some great color choices.  I love the Starlooks site and everything that is available to use the cards for.  All of these products ship for free!  The gift cards got me about $60.00 worth of freebies so it is definitely worth the $12.00 a month.
I highly recommend Starlooks to any beauty addict.  It makes a great gift idea as well.

Fantasy Box Is Not Just Valentine's Day. Check Out the Limited Edition Platinum Spa Box (Review)

The Platinum Spa Limited Edition Valentine's Day Fantasy Box was exclusively designed for The View.  It features an amazing lingerie set of your choice (Black-Decadence, Red-Romance, or Blue-Sweetness), an array of luxuriously sweetly-scented products and three signature Fantasy Box instruction cards for setting the mood and turning your home into a romantic spa retreat. And no need to worry about the neighbors, the package is delivered in a discreet brown box.

My Review:

I recently had the chance to review a Platinum Spa Valentine's Day Fantasy Box.  I adore Fantasy Box and could not wait to receive this box.  I already had Valentine's Day plans for dinner and the new hot movie with my hubby so this would fit in perfectly for the after party.

As promised, the box arrived in plain cardboard with no distinguishable labels to give a clue to what is inside.  When I opened the box, the first layer had three cards that gave ideas and instructions on how to use the products inside.

Under the flap lay the lovely products!  I'm in heaven!  Some of  my favorite things all thrown into one box!  Anyone could get used to this.  Here is a breakdown of everything inside...

Lingerie- I chose the Decadence set, which is black.  You can get red or blue as well.  They are supposed to come with panties but mine did not.  I ordered a size large even though I usually wear medium and it fits perfectly.  It is super cute and comfy.

Coquette Thigh High Hose - I honestly did not wear these because my husband hates them.

Kama Sutra Chocolate Crème Brulee Body Souffle - This stuff is very moisturizing and smells delicious.  I felt like I was being slothered in chocolate pudding.

JimmyJane Afterglow Natural Massage Oil Candle - This candle burned nicely and smelled great.  It does not leave your skin waxy like some oil candles do.  If you like hot oil massages, then this is perfect for you.

Sliquid Organics Sensual Massage Oil - This oil does not have much of a scent but works great.

Kama Sutra Honey Dust Kissable Body Powder - This powder comes in a cute bag and also a tin.  It has a feather duster to apply it with.  It smells amazing!  You will definitely want to kiss it off!

Bag of flower petals - You can drop these in the bath water to set the mood or leave a trail to where you are with them.

Bag of 9 Tealight Candles - I lit these around the room to create a sexier atmosphere.

There was also a 25% off code for my first subscription box!

Thanks to Fantasy Box, my Valentine's Day (and the next morning) was amazing!  I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to add some fun in the bedroom or wants a great gift idea.  It's not just for Valentine's Day.  It is perfect for any occasion or every night!  This box is still available for $99 (that's half price!) so hurry before they sell out!  Check out the website for all the other boxes that is available and be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.

Make your own jewelry with Project DIY

We know you love looking great without breaking the bank. We get it. Project DIY is here to help you do just that. Every month you'll receive the materials to make 2 to 3 original accessory pieces that you'll love to make as much as you'll love to wear. Are you ready to transform their trims into runway trends?

My Review:

I recently had the chance to review the October Project DIY collection.  It was based on Punk influences and contained three jewelry kits for me to make.  There were a Luxe Punk Collar Necklace, an Oversized Chain Pin, & a Spike Tassel Pendant kit included.

My kit also came with a starter kit.  This includes Needle Nose Plier, Wire Cutter, Chain Nose Plier, Jump Ring Opener, Assorted Clasps, Earring Hooks, Jump Rings, and Chain Extenders.  Right now, this is free with your first month's subscription!  It used to be a separate charge.  It came in very handy while I was making my jewelry so I was glad I had it.

The first piece I made was the Spike Tassel Pendant.  Everything came in it's own little box that I needed.  Everything except instructions, that is.  I had to go online to get directions on how to make all of the jewelry.  They were all simple step-by-step directions with pictures but I would prefer to have a printed off sheet in front of me.

The necklace was fairly easy to make.  Even though it is not something I would normally wear, my daughter went crazy for it!  She wears it everywhere and has asked me to make more for her friends because they love it.

Next, I made the Luxe Punk Collar since it would take some time for the glue to dry.  Even though it looks tedious to make, it was very simple.

It turned out gorgeous and once again, my daughter stole it.  I will be wearing this one on occasion as well.

While the glue was drying, I made the Oversized Chain pin.  This one was very easy to make as well.

My daughter is wearing this on a vest and it looks great.  She first tried putting it on a shirt but the pin is so big, it left big holes in it.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Project DIY to anyone who likes to make their own jewelry.  It would make a great gift idea as well.  It costs $30.00 a month and shipping is included.  Check out the website or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram.

You can also gift someone their Starbox each month without stepping into a post office. Sign up your lucky gift-ee and they will begin to receive their gorgeous Starbox filled with FULL SIZE, high-end Starlooks products. You can order past boxes as well if they are still available!

 My Review

I recently had the opportunity to review the October Starbox. I love to experiment with new beauty products and colors so this is the perfect opportunity! My black box arrived wrapped with a cute gold bow and the contents were wrapped in tissue paper. It would be the perfect gift!

It included the following items:

"Puzzy" Tendergloss - ($13.00) - The ideal, natural lip color enhancer for all skin tones.  Can be smoothed over lips directly for a sheer, metallic finish, or applied with a lip brush for deeper coverage.  This is a great lip gloss but did not give any color.  It lasts for a long time and has no taste at all.  This is nice if you want to show off your own lip color and make them super soft.

"Mirage" Gem Pencil - ($14.00) - This smooth, rich, satin formula can be used as an all-over shadow base or as an eye liner-both outside and inside the water line.  I am usually an all black liner person but this was really fun to try.  I actually loved the look.  I tried it as a liner first and it made my blue eyes look so much bigger!  Throughout the day, the color smudged into eyeshadow but it still gave the same affect.  Several people complemented my eyes.

"3B1" 3 Shadow Blush Palette - ($46.00) - Three wonderfully pigmented colors suitable for any occasion.  I found that even though my skin tone is light right now, I can wear any of these colors and pull it off just fine.  I have a daytime blush, an evening blush, and an anytime blush!  I can also blend the colors to get a different shade.  I love it!

$50 coupon code for the entire Rivet & Sway Glasses collection

40% off code for any Starlooks purchase

There was also a "Spoiler Alert" card in the box telling me that the December box contains a Fifteen Shade Pro Eye Shadow Palette!  It will be a $99 value for only $15!

Give the gift of a Starbox Subscription to a friend / loved one for the holidays, and they will receive the December Starbox – an incredible $99 value! – which will contain the 15 Shade Eye Shadow Palette

This link shows you how to use the products in the box if you aren't sure how to wear them. There are different ways to create beautiful looks. I had fun trying out the different looks but of course, I didn't come close to looking like the models on the website.

.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Starbox to any beauty junkie. It makes a great gift, too!  Subscribe to Starbox before November 10th to receive the amazing November Starbox, and before December 10th to receive the incredible December Starbox, containing the Starlooks' $99 VALUE, 15 Shade Eye Shadow Palette.  Subscriptions are only $15/mo + shipping!” Check out their website and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, & Youtube.

My Review

I recently had the chance to review a CraftersCrate with my daughter, Savanna.  She is ten years old and loves to do all kinds of craft activities.  She was super excited to receive this box.  When it arrived, she knew it had to be for her because of the cute pink elephant on the box.

Everything was wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a bow inside.  There was a welcome note stating that this month's crate was called "Fun with Food".

Here is everything that was in the kit before we got started.  Most of the projects are individually packaged but a few of them have an item or two that didn't fit in the bag.  There are 5 projects included in this box.

Savanna started out by making the Cookie Earrings.  They were made with clay, earring clips, glue dots, and wax paper.  I only needed to heat the oven and help her get them out.  She did the rest by herself and they turned out super cute!

Here she is modeling them!

The next project she did was the Fruit Stamp.  It came with a stamp/handle, tape squares/glue dot, foam & templates, & paint.  She was able to follow the directions by herself to make this one alone.

The stamps are interchangeable so she can reuse the different fruits.  I will need to get more tape squares because they quit sticking very quickly.

Next, she made the Felt Carrot.  It included felt & template, stuffing, ribbon, needle, & thread.  She needed a little help to get started but did a pretty good job on it.  For her first time ever hand sewing, I think it looks great!

The ribbon was a little short to tie in a bow but we made it work.

Next up was the Recipe Holder.  It included pocket sheets, card stock, flower template, magnets, brad, white card stock, & recipe card.  She made this one on her own and it is super cute as well.

Here it is hanging on my fridge.

Finally, she made the Family Nutrition Game.  It included a nutrition game board, spinning arrow, food group game pieces, brad, crayons, & the box that the kit came in.  She was able to make this by herself but we have played it with her.

She had a blast with this kit and loved doing all of the projects.  She sat here and did one project after the other until they were all done.  She asked if I would buy her another one.  I have seen the enjoyment it brought her and how content it made her.  Not many things keep her occupied for very long.  I would definitely recommend CraftersCrate to anyone with young girls.  It makes a great gift idea as well.  You can check out the website or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
