Take me back to 1987

Prompt: If you had to be trapped inside a movie for 5 days, which movie would you pick?

If I could be trapped in any movie, it would definitely be Rock of Ages.  I have always said I would give anything to be able to go back to 1987 but be old enough to enjoy it.  I was actually six years old in 1987 but the I think the 80's was the greatest decade for music.  The movie showcases some of favorite songs and bands of the era.  Even though there are some cheesy parts in the movie, I still love it.  I would gladly go back and play the part of anyone in the movie for 5 days.

Daily blogging is harder than I thought

NaBloPoMo November 2013

Prompt: Tell us what you've learned so far about daily blogging.

So far, I have learned that daily blogging is harder than I thought.  It makes me think about things that I wouldn't normally think about.  I am answering questions to give you more info about me.  My blog is typically just reviews and you do get to see some stuff about my life in general but these questions seem to go a little deeper.  They are helping us learn more about each other by allowing us to visit each others blogs.  It's amazing how many different answers everyone comes up with on the same question.  I love to read all the answers everyone writes each day. I have met a lot of really nice people and found some great sites.

If I could change my name...

http://www.blogher.com/nablopomo-soup-add-your-november-2013-posts?from=pop

Prompt: If you had to switch your first name, what name would you choose and why?

I was born with the name Rita Lynn but grew up with the nickname "Maynard".  Apparently, there was an oatmeal commercial or something in the 80's and a little kid said "good stuff, Maynard".  I used to run around saying that all the time so it kind of stuck.  All of my dad's friends called me that and still do.  Most of them don't even know my real name.  I don't particularly care for the name but it doesn't really bother me since my daddy started calling me Maynard.  After my daughter was born, she looked exactly me.  My dad started calling her "Lil Maynard" then shortened it to just "Lil".  While I pregnant, I had searched for the perfect girls name for her.  I was bound determined to name her Halen Rayenne but my husband was dead set against it.  Yes, Halen like the band Van Halen.  I think it is the perfect name and would change my name to it in a heartbeat.  I usually name our pets after rock stars or songs so Halen just kind of falls into place.  My son's name is Hunter and Halen goes well with Hunter.  After much debate, we settled on my second choice for a name and called her Savanna Evette.  She says she hates her name and wishes we would have named her Halen.  She's a little rocker too!

My messy writing space

I just joined in on BlogHer NaBloPoMo Blogroll.  I plan on posting every single day through November.  They will give me a writing prompt and I will be answering a question.  Several other bloggers will be participating as well.  It will be a fun opportunity to learn more about each other!

Prompt: Tell us about your writing space. Where do you write your blog posts?

I sit on the couch with a laptop on my lap, sometimes all day long.  I have a desk but I never use it.  It just isn't comfortable.  I have everything I need beside me...Mtn. Dew, smokes, phones, planner, etc.

The center of my couch tends to accumulate junk mail and other stuff that needs to be cleaned off every time somebody comes to the house.

If I get bored or can't think of something to write, I click on my KISS panda bears wallpaper with some music.  They give me motivation to write again.

I would take my couch over a desk any day!
