I recently had the chance to review the service of YesVideo.  I was so excited when I was asked to send in up to three videos to have made into DVD's.  I have always wanted my high school TV class videos made into a DVD.  Yes, our school has a TV class and we get to make music videos!  I sang "Me and Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin and was all decked out in complete hippy attire.  I hadn't seen this video since high school and I graduated in 1999.  I really wanted my kids to see it.  As I was digging through stuff to find it, I found my wedding video that my mom recorded (also back in '99).  I have never even seen it!  Isn't it bad that I have never seen my own own wedding video because I don't have a VCR?  I actually didn't know I had the video until I came across it that day.  It made me happy to find it because I really wanted to see it and show it to my kids as well.  I also found my Senior Memories video that was made right before graduation.  It was a compilation of baby pictures, senior pictures, and just memories that our class of 1999 wanted to share.  It is something to look back at to remember everyone.  I had to send that one too.

When my DVD's arrived, I couldn't wait to watch them.  Each movie had numbered photo frames on the front and back so I could skip to a certain section if I wanted to.  I watched my wedding video first and saw myself walk down the aisle for the first time.  I saw my Godfather cut into our second dance and completely shocked my husband.  It brought tears to my eyes as I relived these memories.  Seeing my Godparents, who are no longer with us, in my wedding video just tore my heart out.  It was difficult to figure out who some people were, especially the kids.  My kids liked watching them to see how much we have changed.  This was fifteen years ago!  My mom had also filmed my son's first Christmas on this same tape, which I had no idea that was on there.  He was only about two weeks old.  As far as I know, this is the only video footage in existence of him when he was a baby.  Nobody I knew had a video camera when he was little except my mom and she lived in Arizona.  She only came to visit once a year.

Next, I watched my TV videos from my Junior year of 1997/98.  I remember having so much fun in that class.  We learned the basics of TV production but the highlight was getting to make a music video.  It was so hard to choose a song.  I have always been stuck in the 80's but there aren't a lot of girl singers from the era that I like.  I decided to jump back to the 70's and sing Janis.  Here is a clip from our amateur video work...

It's amazing how much I have changed!  I'm thinner now and don't remember ever making the transition to what I am now.  I don't remember my hair ever being that dark!

Finally, I watched my Senior Memories.  It's crazy how much we have all changed!  I only see a few of the people I graduated with.  Most of us are married and have kids now.  Some got married right out of high school like I did.  It's fun to look back and see what we used to be like back then.  I couldn't even remember some of the people and had to get out the old yearbooks.  I can't thank YesVideo enough for bringing my memories back to me.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to have their home videos transferred to DVD.  Check out their website or follow them on Facebook & Twitter.
